The possible divestment by Unilever of its stake in an iced tea joint-venture will not have "substantive" ramifications, according to JV partner PepsiCo.

99r8这是只有精品视频20Last month, Unilever announced a strategic review of its tea business - including the Lipton brand - with a view to potentially selling the operations. The announcement cast doubt on the future of PepsiCo and Unilever's 20-year Lipton JV, which produces iced tea under the Lipton brand name.

Speaking yesterday, PepsiCo CFO Hugh Johnston said that although the announcement may have ramifications for Unilever, "it shouldn't have substantive ramifications for us going forward".

"[Unilever has] been a terrific partner over the course of the last couple of decades," Johnston said. "We've built a nice ready-to-drink tea business, both in the US and internationally. We certainly feel good about that. As regards the JV, we really like where we sit very much right now."

99r8这是只有精品视频20Adding to Johnston's comments, PepsiCo CEO Ramon Laguarta said: "We like this category. We like what we're seeing. As Hugh said, we'll wait for events from Unilever."

Laguarta, who was speaking after PepsiCo's full-year results announcement this week, also said PepsiCo can do "a better job" with its Rockstar energy drinks partnership. The company plans to work this year with the Las Vegas-based Rockstar "to develop and to reinvest", Laguarta explained.

99r8这是只有精品视频20"The consumers are looking for more caffeine," the CEO said. "It's clear that this is an opportunity that they're looking for. As the day is becoming longer and the commuting is longer, there's a lot of tailwinds to the use of caffeine."
