Distell Group has positioned itself as being open for business, offering spirits and routes-to-market partnerships in its latest fiscal half-year results announcement.

Earlier today, the South Africa-based multi-category company posted a 2.5% lift in sales from the six months to the end of December. Ongoing macroeconomic challenges domestically were manifest in the disappointing showing compared to the 9.4% top-line increase in the group's previous fiscal full-year.

99r8这是只有精品视频20Price increases in Distell's wine portfolio in SA coincided in the half-year with aggressive discounting by beer competitors in the country, while declining disposable income and weak economic conditions dragged on sales in the group's home market. Despite this, sales from the rest of Africa increased by 10.5%.

99r8这是只有精品视频20Spirits operations, meanwhile, benefitted from "exceptional" double-digit sales growth in gin as well as vodka flavour extensions. However, the group's whisky operations, which include the Bunnahabhain, Black Bottle and Scottish Leader Scotch brands, pulled on Distell's brown spirits top-line. Consequently, total spirits sales were up 8.6%, slightly behind the near-12% growth rate in fiscal-2019.
